The New Forest Branch of The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is holding its next free open networking evening on Tuesday 1st December at The Crown Hotel, Lyndhurst starting at 6.30pm. This month's meeting will feature a presentation by local FSB member Andy Hudson of Bridging the Gap whose talk entitled 'Binge Discounting - The Dangers of a Price War ' will remind his audience of the risk of reacting in the wrong way to difficult markets. The presentation will look at how customers see pricing and offer examples of how businesses are improving profitability but most importantly, without cutting profits. The evening is very much designed to provoke a discussion about value, pricing and discounting. In the current economic climate, this presentation and subsequent discussions should prove very interesting. In addition to this presentation, there will be time afterwards for attendees to network with each other and enjoy a pre-Christmas drink. The event is open to all businesses, it isn’t necessary to be a FSB member. FSB branch officers will be on hand to discuss any local or small business issues that people wish to raise. Rob Dewing, Chairman of the New Forest Branch, said: “We have been pleased with the response to our networking events this year, particularly the events with a speaker, showing that small business owners are active in wishing to promote their businesses and learn from the practical experiences of other members.” This event is open to members and also any business considering joining the growing ranks of the FSB. The cost of attending is £9.50 and includes a buffet. Anyone interested in attending should contact Lorna Wills on 01425 280821 or by email:
