The results of the May 2010 General Parliamentary Election for the Christchurch constituency were declared at 1.47 this morning. The votes cast were: Christopher Robert Chope (Conservative) 27,888 (56.3%) Rob Deeks (Labour) 4,849 (9.8%) Martyn John Hurll (Liberal Democrat) 12,478 (25.2%) David John Williams (United Kingdom Independence Party) 4,201 (8.5%) Christopher Robert Chope has been duly elected to serve as Member of Parliament for Christchurch. The turnout was 71.9 per cent. |
