The Federation of Small Businesses is holding its popular annual summer charity barbeque at the prestigious Christchurch Harbour Hotel on Friday 22 May starting at 7.30pm. The event is open to all and will raise funds for The Mayor of Christchurch’s charities. The event is being sponsored by Christchurch Harbour Hotels. The evening will include a charity raffle and auction plus entertainment. Chairman of the local FSB branch which covers Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Poole, Bill Dedman, said: “We realise that the situation for businesses is not ideal but we have been extremely lucky with the event receiving generous sponsorship. Last year we raised in excess of £800 and we hope that we can reach a good sum this year also despite the way things are.” The FSB is appealing for raffle and auction prizes to help in their fundraising efforts. “We are always very grateful for donations of prizes which can include services to be auctioned in addition to items and vouchers,” said Bill. Tickets for the barbeque are £20 each and booking is essential, for details call Marie Brady or Lorna Wills on 01425 280080 or 01425 280821 or visit the website at www.fsb.org.uk/wessex. The FSB is Britain's leading business organisation with over 215,000 members. It exists to protect and promote the interests of the self-employed, and all those who run their own business.
