Portfield School Summer Fayre and Open Day 
Portfield School, part of The Wessex Autistic Society, will be throwing its doors open for its School Summer Fayre and Open Day on Saturday 10th July from 2-5pm. This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever with lots of stalls offering all kinds of wares from jewellery, shoes and handbags to hand crafted wooden toys, manicures and massages, portrait photography (available to take home on the day!), children's chef & gardening sets, sample party bags, aloe vera treatments and more! A bouncy castle, tombola, penalty shoot out, face painting and sumo wrestling outfits promise to make the occasion a great family fun day out.
Head Teacher, Janis Rogers, will be present to take interested parties on tours of the school and answer any questions about the school, its culture and the exceptional facilities on offer. “The Fayre and Open Day is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in the school to come and take a look at our facilities and ask any questions they would like to. Its an informal day and we welcome anyone with an interest to come and visit us,” comments Janis.
There is a suggested entry fee to the Summer Fayre of £1 per adult with ALL proceeds going to the charity.
Sarah Bohn, Community and Events Fundraiser comments, “We are making this year’s event a real opportunity for families to come and spend some time at the school having a relaxed and fun afternoon. Portfield School is proud of its unique facilities and keen to open its doors to showcase the specialist resources on offer for children and young people with autism. We have organised plenty of stalls and fun activities for all the family to have a fun day out as well as learn about Portfield and The Wessex Autistic Society.” Portfield School is run by the Society and currently educates 60 pupils aged 3-18 and tailors the educational curriculum according to each pupils needs, focusing on individuals’ strengths as well as addressing the learning disabilities associated with autism. Portfield was awarded the ‘OFSTED Outstanding’ Logo as a result of its 2007/08 inspection. If you would like to exhibit at this event please contact the Fundraising Team on 01202 703597.
