Sponsored Beach Walk with the Mayor of Christchurch
The Mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Nick Geary, is inviting everyone to join him for a 5km walk to get fit and raise money for his charities. The Mayor’s Sponsored Charity Beach Walk takes place on Sunday 12 September leaving Mudeford Quay at 11am. The walkers will go along the new Gundimore path and on to Highcliffe Beach promenade before returning to Mudeford Quay. The Mayor said: “I’m going to mark the start of Fit Christchurch week with this gentle amble along the beach and would like to invite everyone to come along and raise some sponsorship to go towards my charities. “Walkers of all ages and fitness levels are welcome, as are dogs.” The Mayor’s charities are Christchurch Activities for Young People (CAYP), The Wessex Autistic Society (Portfield School) and First Opportunities. Sponsorship forms are available from the Mayor’s secretary on 01202 495134 or by email at
