Stalls all full for Christchurch International Food Market
People attending this year’s International Food Market on Saturday 8 May and Sunday 9 May are sure to find something delicious to take home with them as the market organisers have now declared the market full of stallholders with no more room in the High Street and adjacent areas. The 100+ stalls will offer everything from fish to fudge and from sausages to sangria. The range of food on sale will include olives, cured meats, wild game, smoked and fresh fish and meat, nuts, oils and vinegars, cheese, pies, bread and pastries, Turkish delight, fresh vegetables and much more. Lovers of alcoholic drinks will not be disappointed as there will be stalls selling beer, fruit wines, sloe gin, liqueurs, champagne, cider and a favourite from last year – toffee flavoured vodka! Those who like to graze as they gaze will find plenty to satisfy their appetites with takeaway food including a hog roast, Japanese and Thai food, sausages, stir-fried chicken, steak sandwiches and paella, amongst others. Non-food items are also featured, such as stainless steel tableware, chopping boards, Mediterranean cookware and roasting planks. Heart FM are sponsoring a family zone in an area just off the High Street where they will be playing music and offering a chance to play on a Wii game. Frettens Solicitors and Chefs Mate will have a smoothie bike on which people can get fit and create their own fruit smoothies at the same time and there will areas for people to sit and relax and consume whatever they have bought from the stalls. Jacksons Mercedes will be in Bank Close car park showing off their latest models. All this plus the demonstrations from celebrity and local chefs in the marquee in Saxon Square, musical entertainment and the Kids Kitchen at the Priory School in Wick lane are sure to make for exciting weekend. |
