Theatrical, glamorous, luxurious and stylish are just some of the words to describe the handbag and accessory donations being received by the Wessex Autistic Society in the run up to the local charity’s popular ‘Helping Handbag’ auction, taking place on Thursday 6th October 2011 at 1812 Lounge Bar in Bournemouth. Handbag donations from Fiorelli, Valentino, Smythson, and Buba London are making this a ‘must attend’ event for the second year running. With the addition of accessories to this year’s auction, attendees will be spoilt for choice with something for everyone. ‘Up and coming’ London based jewellery designers Lola Rose, Jacey Withers and Nicholas King have all contributed to the event with some stunning jewellery.
Nicholas’s jewellery background has already spanned a decade. With roots designing clothes with John Galliano, Nicholas’ career moved towards jewellery design in the late 1990’s. 2009 saw Nicholas’ debut as a jewellery designer in his own right. His collection is described as a ‘fashion led and innovative jewellery collection representing his love of bold shapes, colour and unusual mixes of materials ‘ and The Wessex Autistic Society is delighted to have him on board supporting the auction.
Local Westbourne based jewellers Beau Bijou will be making a bespoke piece of jewellery for the event. Combining authentic vintage jewellery, pearls and Swarovski crystal in unique and beautiful creations, Beau Bijou bring a modern twist to "something old". This special donation promises to be a real show stopper on the night.
Community and Events Fundraiser, Louise Trott comments; “We are really excited about this year’s auction and are looking to attract those with a penchant for handbags and stunning accessories. We have worked very hard to secure some highly desirable designer bags along with some bespoke and vintage jewellery along with other new and used accessories. We need the generous support of the local community to come along and get involved in this special occasion. We are making the event a lot of fun with a number of stalls selling luxury wares, all to be confirmed. Every single penny raised from this event will go to the charity, thanks again to our generous sponsors covering many of the event costs. The evening promises to be a glamorous occasion and an opportunity to come away with a fabulous addition to your wardrobe ~ all in aid of charity. Please come and join us and be prepared for a really fun evening.”
Taking place on Thursday 6th October 2011 from 7pm, tickets cost just £10, including a free cocktail on arrival. Generously supported by fashionable lounge bar 1812 in Exeter Road, Bournemouth, the event will be a networking and shopping opportunity with ‘bags of potential’ to raise funds for a worthwhile local autism charity.
Kindly supported once again by The Daily Echo and Heart FM and our corporate sponsors Siemens VAI; this fashionable event will be attended by a local Heart FM DJ as our celebrity auctioneer, whetting the audience’ appetite for the one of a kind pieces on offer. A raffle will take place on the evening giving everyone who enters the chance to win a luxury accessory and help a local autism charity in the process.
