The Wessex Autistic Society is delighted to have received a generous donation from Hurn based jet maintenance facility, CSE Citation Centre, for over £3,000, thanks to their incredibly successful inaugural Summer Family Fun Day, held at Bournemouth Airport recently.
Philip Lammiman, Managing Director of CSE Citation Centre commented, “As a company we are keen to get involved with local charities, and this year, due to the proximity of Portfield School to our own business, we were really keen to help such a local worthwhile cause. The Family Fun Day was successful beyond all our expectations and we are delighted to have made such a significant contribution to Portfield School. We have been both humbled and inspired by our recent experience of the amazing work done at the school for young people on the autism spectrum, and we very much hope to establish a long term relationship with the charity to continue to do all we can to help raise funds and awareness.”
CSE Citation Centre is unique in that it is the only Cessna Authorised Service Centre that specialises exclusively in Cessna Citation maintenance in Europe. The Centres 30,000 square foot hangar facility is located at Bournemouth Airport. The hangar is divided into two distinct areas and will house the full range of Cessna Citation aircraft.
Sarah Bohn, Community and Events Fundraiser for The Wessex Autistic Society Comments, “We are thrilled with the amount of money raised from the Family Fun Day. The staff at CSE Citation Centre has been so helpful and enthusiastic in organising the event and have done such a wonderful job on behalf of the Charity. We are delighted with the funds raised and the money will be put to excellent use to ensure the purchase of essential resources at Portfield School. We very much look forward to an ongoing relationship.”
Portfield School is run by the Society and currently educates 60 pupils aged 3-18 and tailors the educational curriculum according to each pupils needs, focusing on individuals’ strengths as well as addressing the learning disabilities associated with autism.
The Wessex Autistic Society has a full diary of fundraising events over the coming months to continue to raise vital funds for the charity, including a Buccaneers BBQ & Scavenger Hunt taking place on 9th September at The Royal Bath Hotel.
